What is E.coli?

Escherichia coli or E. coli belongs to the class of gram-negative bacteria which is able to survive in environments that are with/without air as they are facultative anaerobes.  Depending on the habitat, E.coli might or might not develop their characteristic slight hair-like organs termed pili or flagella that let the bacteria make for as well as attach themselves to human cells.
